In early 1997, a group of businessmen and professionals from Batangas founded a rural bank named PROGRESSIVE RURAL BANK, INC. (PRBI), more widely known as PROGRESSIVE BANK. They bought a lot in Luta Norte, Malvar, Batangas where its head office was established. Progressive Rural Bank Inc. (PRBI) started its banking operations on January 8, 1998.
The bank was committed to better serving its growing clientele with a sense of distinction worthy of its name. That is why they decided to expand its service to neighboring provinces. And so, after a decade, Progressive Rural Bank, Inc.(PRBI) opened its first branch on May 8, 2008 along C.M. Recto Ave., the busy commercial center of Lipa City, Batangas.
On July 15, 2011, another branch was established at Crossing, Calamba City,a first component city located in the province of Laguna. Calamba City is known today as the “Second Richest City in CALABARZON”. After two years on December 21, 2013, another branch was established in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Santa Rosa is the premier city and hub of South Luzon.
Since the establishment in 1988, from five (5) employees, , PROGRESSIVE BANK is now operating with forty five (45) employees. As it is professionally managed by successful businessmen with peerless integrity, it is not surprising that despite it’s humble beginnings, PROGRESSIVE BANK has become one of the most admired rural banks in the region.
